While development on the new Castlevania continues, our sources tell us that a name has been selected for the next chapter in the franchise. According to our sources, the next Castlevania is likely to be called “Harmony of Despair.”

It has been uncovered that Konami has recently trademarked the title, but of course no reference to Castlevania was made, which is not unusual. The moles say that the choice of “Harmony of Despair” fits in nicely with the previously released “Harmony of Dissonance” that arrived for the Game Boy way back in 2002.

The current Castlevania game in production is called “Lord of Shadow” and it is thought that “Harmony of Despair” might actually be a title for the portable system market and never arrive for home console systems. It does seem that it will be a direct sequel for Harmony of Dissonance, which does seem to suggest that it will be a portable release.
