Valve will finally be releasing the first download content package for Left 4 Dead 2 next week after it missed its initial target release date at the end of March. This content pack has been eagerly awaited by many players, as it will feature a cross over with the characters from the first Left 4 Dead title.

While we don’t want to spoil the story line for you, we can tell you (based on what those in the know tell us) that beyond the cross over element from the characters from the first Left 4 Dead title, you can expect new weapons and infected as has been the norm with these download packs.

While the exact release date has yet to be announced, our sources seem to think that it will arrive on April 28th. When it does arrive it will be sold for 560 Microsoft Points (or $7, if you prefer) for the Xbox 360 version. While not yet confirmed, it will arrive on Steam for the PC version, as well. Rumors suggest that it will likely be a free download for the PC version of L4D2.
