E3 announcement to provide specifics

We have been telling you that our sources continue to feed us a good amount of information on the fact that Dreamcast titles will be coming to the Xbox 360 in the form of Xbox Live Arcade Releases. We have already told you about several of these upcoming titles, and now you can add two more games to that list.

Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure are coming for release, as well. According to our sources this will not be the last of the Dreamcast titles that will make their way to Xbox Live Arcade. The rumblings that we hear indicate that at least several more titles are planned, with even more to be added if the sales of these titles prove popular.

Sega has been on a retro re-release mission as of late, with the company trying to squeeze every dollar that it can from every platform that it is able to cover. The latest classic releases included a number of Genesis titles that were released in conjunction with a new program that the company launched in a partnership with Steam. The Xbox Live Arcade releases of the Dreamcast titles would really be the first attempt to bring retro Dreamcast titles to the masses. Whispers from our sources suggest that, if popular, Sega would also like to release several very popular Saturn offerings to Xbox Live Arcade. There is no word yet on what these Saturn offerings might be.

There is no word yet on how Sega will be working with Microsoft to release these offerings or when they will arrive, but we expect the details to be filled in at E3. Of course, since they are Xbox Live Arcade title releases, each title is said to include the regular 200 achievement points per title.
