One year later and still no release

One of the most interesting announcements at E3 last year was JoyRide from developer BigPark. This Microsoft title promised a new free-game avatar micro-transaction model for the Xbox 360. Now one year later, JoyRide is missing in action and all links to its existence have been removed from Microsoft’s Web site.

While no one at Microsoft is saying exactly what happened to JoyRide or developer BigPark, it has led some to think that Microsoft has canceled the game and suspended development on the project. Microsoft purchased BigPark, and since the purchase things have been quiet, so it was assumed that they were working on the delivery of JoyRide.

While Microsoft never comments on rumors or speculation, they are saying simply that they are looking forward to helping BigPark achieve their vision to life in 2010.  This comment from Microsoft could actually mean just about anything. We have no clue if BigPark is working on something else, or whether JoyRide will ever see the light of day. This is unfortunate; this was a really good looking title that seemed to have unlimited potential.
