Crimson Desert game does not support Intel Arc graphics cards, with buyers advised to seek refunds

Pearl Abyss has confirmed that its newly released open-world title Crimson Desert does not support Intel Arc graphics cards, effectively locking out a portion of PC gamers at launch, and advising them to seek refunds.

While it is not strange that the game lacks optimization for certain graphics cards, according to a report from Videocardz.com, it doesn’t run on Intel Arc graphics cards at all. Multiple users with Intel Arc hardware have reported that the game fails to launch, displaying an error message stating, “The graphics device is currently not supported.”

In an official FAQ, Pearl Abyss confirmed the situation, noting that Crimson Desert “currently does not support Intel Arc graphics cards.” The developer also indicated that it will not provide fixes or updates for Arc-related issues and stopped short of offering any roadmap or commitment to future compatibility.

As a result, players who purchased the game expecting Arc support are being advised to request refunds. The decision is particularly notable and quite disappointing since Crimson Desert is currently one of the more popular titles on PC platforms.

The lack of compatibility is not limited only to discrete GPUs, as it extends to systems powered by Intel’s CPUs with integrated Intel Arc graphics solutions, including the latest Panther Lake-based ones, which also means it might not run on any future handheld devices built on Intel’s platform. On the other hand, both AMD and NVIDIA have released their new graphics driver updates for the game, which include support for the game. AMD has even included FSR 4.1 support and ray regeneration since it has teamed up with Pearl Abyss for launch, offering a bundle promotion as well.

For now, Intel Arc users are left without a workaround—and without any clear indication that one is coming.
