A fresh leak suggests AMD may be preparing a more affordable addition to its Radeon RX 9000-series lineup, with the rumored Radeon RX 9050 reportedly featuring 8 GB of GDDR6 memory and a cut-down Navi 44 GPU.
According to info gathered by Videocardz.com, citing an AIB partner as a source, the RX 9050 is expected to use the same Navi 44 architecture as the RX 9060, but with lower clock speeds. The leaked specifications list a 1920MHz game clock and up to 2600MHz boost clock, positioning the card below the RX 9060 in overall performance despite an interesting increase in stream processor count.
The report claims the RX 9050 could feature 2048 stream processors, compared to 1792 on the RX 9060, which could leave it below in terms of performance despite the higher number of stream processors. Of course, these are still preliminary specifications, and AMD could still adjust them before launch, including cutting down a few stream processors to create a better gap between these models.
Connectivity details from the leak include PCIe 5.0 x16 support, HDMI 2.1b, and dual DisplayPort 2.1a outputs. The card is also said to require at least a 450W power supply, suggesting a relatively low power requirement for an entry-level RDNA GPU.
AMD has not officially confirmed the Radeon RX 9050, and there is still no information on the actual launch timeframe.
