Creative revives the Audigy line with Sound Blaster Audigy FX Pro

Creative Technology has rolled out a new addition to its long-running Audigy lineup, the Sound Blaster Audigy FX Pro, marking the first new Audigy-series PCIe card in several years.

Aimed at users who still prefer dedicated PC audio hardware, the card offers support for 7.1‑channel surround sound and comes with a built-in headphone amplifier designed to handle higher-impedance headsets and headphones.

The Sound Blaster Audigy FX Pro connects via a PCIe x1 interface and delivers 24-bit/192kHz audio resolution. It supports virtual 7.1 surround, low-latency audio processing for gaming and multimedia, and integrates Creative’s software suite for customizing sound profiles, effects, and equalizer settings. The card is compatible with Windows systems and is designed as a straightforward internal upgrade for desktop PCs.

The launch is interesting mostly because the Audigy lineup has not been updated in quite a while, with the last PCIe model launched several years ago. With the FX Pro, Creative seems to be refreshing the series for users who still want a simple internal sound card option.

Unfortunately, pricing and broader availability information have not been announced, but it is already showing up in product listings.
