Samsung has lifted the kimono on a trifold phone. It will start at about $2,450 in Korea, and Samsung says it plans to sell it in the US without admitting what that will cost you.
Unveiled in Seoul on 2 December 2025, the Galaxy Z TriFold uses two hinges to unfold into a 10-inch tablet.
Unlike Huawei’s Mate models, Samsung’s design folds inward from both sides, giving you a regular-looking outer screen when it is shut.
Open it up, and you get a 10-inch display that is larger than the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s panel, with each section running a different app.
Samsung has tweaked DeX so it can run a desktop-style mode straight on the inner display, rather than forcing you to plug into an external monitor.
In DeX, it can juggle up to four workspaces and run five apps at once in each, which sounds impressive right up until you remember it is still a phone.
Samsung is trying to head off durability snark, saying it refined the hinges, aluminium frame and display tech for longer life.
It is also dangling a one-time 50 per cent discount on display repair costs, which is a funny perk to advertise on day one.
At its thinnest point, the TriFold measures 3.9mm, with a 5,600mAh battery that Samsung claims can deliver up to 17 hours of video playback with the screen fully open.
Samsung did not say how long the battery lasts in normal use, which is the sort of detail you usually learn after you hand over two and a half grand.
