Shuttle launches SB860R8 XPC barebone with Intel Core Ultra 200 support

Shuttle has introduced the new XPC Barebone SB860R8, the latest addition to its 14-liter cube PC lineup. The compact system is built around Intel’s new Core Ultra 200 desktop processors based on the Arrow Lake-S platform and targets workstation users, system integrators, NAS setups, and small server deployments.

Despite its relatively small chassis, the SB860R8 supports Intel Core Ultra 9, 7, and 5 processors with up to 125W TDP on the LGA1851 socket. Shuttle pairs that with four DDR5 memory slots supporting up to 192GB of RAM. Storage support is one of its biggest features, as it supports up to four internal 3.5-inch SATA drives with RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 support, making the system suitable for NAS or mini-server duties. There are also two M.2 NVMe slots, including one PCIe Gen 5 x4 slot for next-generation SSDs, plus an additional M.2 2230 slot for optional Wi-Fi modules.

Connectivity includes dual 2.5GbE LAN powered by Intel i226-LM controllers, multiple USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, and support for up to four displays through two HDMI and two DisplayPort outputs. One of the HDMI ports supports HDMI 2.1 with up to 8K output. Expansion options include a PCIe Gen 5 x16 slot for dual-slot graphics cards as well as an additional PCIe Gen 4 x4 slot for add-in cards.

As expected, the cooling is handled by Shuttle’s own heatpipe cooling system with ten heatpipes and three temperature-controlled fans, while power comes from an integrated 500W 80 Plus Gold PSU.

The Shuttle XPC Barebone SB860R8 is available now with pricing starting at €483 before VAT.
