The final game is complete as it is

It seems players these days are always interested in the amount of potential download content a new title might get, and even before the title is released everyone seems to be buzzing about the developer’s plans for additional content.

In the case of Final Fantasy XIII from Square Enix, it has apparently been already decided that the game will not be getting any additional download content. According to various reports, FFXIII producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Motomu Toriyama have been quoted as saying that the final game is 100% enjoyable and it is a complete package, so they are not planning any DLC at this time.

While some fans might be disappointed with this news where DLC these days is now almost expected, it is refreshing to hear such strong words suggesting that the game is complete and does not need DLC to hold players’ interest.

We still think, however, that a better statement might have been that there are no plans for DLC now, but if sales are not as expected they might have to crank some DLC out to get Final Fantasy fanboys to spend money to help achieve revenue targets.
