Could Backbreaker have gotten an NFL license?

Tweeted picture by CEO suggests that this is the case
Might it be that Backbreaker from NaturalMotion has somehow gotten a NFL license? Well, a tweeted picture from what CEO Torsten Reil says is the iPhone version of BackBreaker, includes NFL branding.

Backbreaker has become known as the football game that challenged Madden NFL without any NFL license. While most agreed that at first it was nothing special as it was sort of buggy and didn’t play that well, after tweaking with some patches things improved to where the game was quite playable.

Everyone knows that Electronic Arts has a deal with the NFL for console systems for the Madden NFL series as well as some other console offerings. We have learned that the deal that EA has doesn’t cover everything, and how the browser-based QuickHit NFL football came to be. Could it be that EA’s license does not cover mobile platforms as an exclusive?

While rumors continue and people speculate, it would appear that it is something new that has yet to be announced and we can expect an announcement soon. We suspect that it is NFL licensed Backbreaker of some sport, but we just are not sure what that might be. iPhone only exclusive seems to be what people are thinking, but we would be surprised if they would just try to lock into just the iPhone market.

See it for yourself right here.
