Madden NFL 12 is already reporting first week sales of 1.4 million units, which is already ahead of last year’s version by about 10 percent.

Perhaps the bigger news is that the revenue from digital sales is far in front of what it has been previously. Digital sales of the Madden Ultimate Team card and coin packs have already topped 200,000 in the first week, and Electronic Arts is excited about the success of the digital sales offers for Madden NFL 12.

EA has not released any Season Ticket specifics other than to say that over 66,000 hours of early access play were logged by early access to the game prior to its actual release. Rumors suggest that EA is pleased so far with the performance of the Season Ticket, and look for the subscription base to continue to grow with hardcore video game sports fans.
