More delays for 17? MacBook Pro

Component delays from suppliers to blame
As we told you a couple of weeks back, Apple continues to have problems getting the new 17-inch MacBook Pro out the door. According to our sources, component delays from suppliers are to blame for the delays.
The new projected shipping date has been moved to February 19th, according to the latest information that we have been able to obtain. Although word started to circulate last week that the 17-inch MacBook Pro was shipping, our fruit tree dwellers insist that Apple has not shipped a single unit yet.
Apple is said to have sent an Email out to customers offering them the option of canceling their orders, but they have not offered anything else to affected customers yet. A great number of people ordered units right after MacWorld and are growing quite impatient with Apple over the continued delays.
It remains unknown as to what specifically is causing the delay, and Apple seems to be doing a good job of keeping the lid on the specifics. Beyond knowing that it is a component delay from one of their suppliers, we have been unable to uncover anything else. However, we will keep digging.
