As noted, the new Asus 970 Pro Gaming/Aura motherboard is based on AMD's 970 + SB950 chipset which makes it compatible with socket AM3+ CPUs with TDP of up to 125W. It also comes with four standard DIMM memory slots with support for up to 32GB of DDR3-2133 memory and features two PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slots (x16 or x8/x8), two PCI-Express 2.0 x1 and two PCI slots as well as six SATA 6Gbps ports.
The rest of the features include Intel Gigabit Ethernet, Asus SupremeFX 8-channel audio as well as plenty of USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports.
The new Asus 970 Pro Gaming/Aura motherboard is a bit different from earlier available AMD 970 chipset based motherboards as it represents AMD's recently announced push to make partners release more AMD socket AM3+ motherboards that will feature modern connectivity options, so the new Asus motherboard comes with an M.2 Socket 3 PCIe 2.0 x4 slot and two USB 3.1 Type-A ports.
It also includes Asus' recently introduced Aura RGB lighting system which bring a bit bling to the motherboard. Asus also included some of its own exclusive features like GameFirst, LANGuard, SupremeFX, Sonic Radar II, RAMCache, Ai Charger+, USB 3.1 Boost, Fan Xpert 2, Asus EZ DIY features and more.
Unfortunately, ASUS did not reveal any details regarding the availability date or the price but we already spotted it listed in Europe with a price set at around €115.
