Helio X30 10nm debut
MediaTek has been quieter than usual but it seems that its Helio X30 high end chipset will debut with the Meizu 7 Pro phone.

MediaTek has officially introduced the Helio X30 and showcased prototype phones at the Mobile World congress. Helio X30 is a dramatic improvement from the last generation as the new SoC comes in 10nm, Imagination Technology GPU and performs faster with much lower power.
Two Snapdragon 835, one Helio X30
Xiaomi Mi 6 is one of the most anticipated phones to come from China and recent information indicates that there might be three versions of the phone, two with Snapdragon 835 and one with MediaTek Helio X30.

Qualcomm was the first to announce 10nm SoC and claims that it has started shipping to OEMs but it looks like MediaTek won’t be that far behind either.
Catching up in the high end
MediaTek has changed its strategy for the high end market to make more competitive chips. The company plans to launch its first USA products this year as it has the Cat 6. capable modems but with 10nm announcement it wants to get closer to the big names in phone SoCs including Qualcomm, Samsung and Apple.

After Meizu MX5 came the MX6 and yet again the company chose the deca-core Helio X20 processor and packed it in a 5.5 inch phone that is 7.25 millimeters thin. Let’s not forget that the Helio X20 also brings the Cat 6. modem in play with support for carrier aggregation.

With the Mobile World Congress is just around the corner, word has leaked out that some Chinese manufacturers are planning to launch a clutch of Helio X20 phones at the show.
