And no, it's not an iMac

Gateway, has launched and all-in-one desktop similar to Sony's Vaio L series and Apple's iMac machines. From the looks of it they've done a good job, maybe not too original, but beautiful and elegant nonetheless.

The machine, christened simply as One, is built around Intel Core 2 Duo processors and ATI Radeon graphics. It uses a 19 inch 1440x900 widescreen, which is packed into a 3.5 inch thick metal case, with a slot in DVD-RW drive on the right side and a bunch of USB ports, a card reader and audio connectors on the left. A 1.3 megapixel webcam is hidden somewhere under the minimalistic piano black finish of the front panel. Wireless LAN, Bluetooth and Firewire should make your life a bit easier too.

The entry level model uses a 1.5GHz Core 2 Duo CPU, integrated X3100 graphics, has 2GB of memory and a 320GB hard drive. This one will cost you $1300. If this isn't enough for $200 extra you can get a 400 GB disk and ATI Mobility Radeon 2600 XT graphics with 256MB ram. Gateway's flagship One is powered by a 2GHz Core 2 Duo, has a 500GB disk, 3GB of memory and it costs $1800.
