Business in a Box targeted at SMB customers

Intel
is preparing to launch a new modular server platform that is targeting SMB customers, called “Business In A Box.”

The platform is designed using Intel’s new 45nm 2P quad core and dual core Xeon processors that have been known under the code-names Harpertown and Wolfdale. The new server will also feature new technology that Intel is calling “Multi-Flex.”

The goal of the new Business in a Box servers is easy remote management that IT managers don’t have to worry about. The server will offer shared storage, as well as virtualized storage capability. Intel is said to start launching the Business in box servers in mid-December.
