Extreme and Gaming series

Adding a bit more flare to its graphics card business, Powercolor has rolled out two new lines of power supply units, the Extreme and Gaming series.

Featuring models that range from 500W to 1000W, the new Powercolor power supplies are complient with ATX 12V v2.2 and EPS12V v2.91 standards and feature either 80Plus and 80Plus Bronze certifications. The Gaming series include a 500W and 600W models while Extreme will be available in 850W and 1000W models.

The Extreme series is modular, features a red 140mm ultra-quiet double ball bearing fan while the yellow Gaming series comes with a, you guessed right, yellow ultra-quiet 120mm double ball bearing fan. The Extreme series is rated at up to 85% efficiency, thus the 80Plus Bronze, while the Gaming series sticks to up to 80% with 80Plus certification.

Both the Extreme and Gaming series have been designed for multi-GPU systems so you can expect PCI-Express power connectors if you are into CrossfireX or SLI configurations.

The price is still unknown but we guess that Powercolor will keep these in line with the competition.
