We all know about Android 2.3 and Android 3.0 and it has been rumoured widely about Honeycomb Android 3.0 successor.

The code-name in game is the Ice Cream Sandwich and it looks like that it might be coming in Q3 2011 and Google is supposed to release its source code by November. If all this come true, Intel should have drivers and optimisations for Ice Cream Sandwich Android in Q1 2012 and Intel based tablets might actually come and run this new Android.

Intel also believes that new Ice Cream Sandwich works on both tablets and phones and Intel plans to have its phones ready for it for Q1 2012. Let’s see if Intel has any chance in this market against ARM.
