Bin Laden malware prompts FBI warning

Causing trouble from beyond the grave
Following a deluge of Osama Bin Laden related news, media and jokes, which quickly evolved into spam and malware, the FBI has issued a warning to computer users to exercise caution in receiving emails claiming to show Bin Laden related content.

Criminals were quick to exploit the demise of the world’s most wanted terrorist and they have already managed to piggyback the news event for their own unsavory plots.

Kaspersky Lab noted that the emails purporting to show Bin Laden’s death are the primary vehicle for the distribution of malicious links and malware. Social networks are also being used to distribute malware and more than 4,000 Bin Laden related tweets are recoded every second. There’s also a Facebook scam posing as Osama’s death video.

Mc Afee warns that the spread of malware will continue over the coming days and that users should be cautious when they receive messages offering a glimpse into Bin Laden’s final moments.

Birthers will probably argue that US President Barack Obama is to blame for the whole mess, as he has failed to disclose Osama’s post mortem photos, or even Osama’s long form birth certificate and high school diploma.
