Zotac rolls out Zbox Nano nettop

by on31 August 2011

AMD E-350 and E-450 in the mix
A few weeks ago we played around with a Zbox AD-02 nettop and the tiny Sapphire Edge HD2, which makes average nettops look like fat slobs with one hand on the remote and another one on a can of cheap beer. (You mean like us? sub.ed.)

Now it was Zotac’s turn to take a shrink ray to the Zbox and come up with something even smaller. Measuring just 127x127x45mm, the Nano has the smallest footprint of any nettop on the market today. However, it’s still twice as thick as Sapphire’s ultrathin Edge.

Like its predecessor, the Nano is based on AMD’s Brazos platform, but this time around Zotac promises to offer new E-450 APUs as an option, with a bit more GPU oomph than the original E-350. However, the E-350 will be the only choice for early adopters and the E-450 version will only show up later.

In terms of features, the Nano resembles a geeky boy scout. USB 3.0, eSATA, WLAN, Bluetooth 3.0, IR remote and everything an average consumer may think of are already on board. We still don’t know the EU/US price, but we can guess the Nano will be a tad pricier than the AD-02.
