Smaller than ZBox nano

In addition to the three new ZBox mini-PCs that were introduced at Cebit, Zotac also did a nice preview of a new prototype that is even smaller than its nano ZBox.

Computerbase.de had a chance to sit down and check out this one and we must say that with a 106x106x37mm enclosure, new Zotac ZBox prototype brings a new meaning to the mini-PC format. Zotac did farely well with ZBox nano and with 127x127x45mm you can hide it anywhere you want.

There are no precise specs regarding the new ZBox prototype but pictures snatched by Computerbase.de shows at least some features that you can expect if and when the device is officially launched. Connectivity options include USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports, e-SATA/USB combo port, Ethernet, audio inputs/outputs, card reader and single HDMI display output.

There had to be some cutbacks in order to save as much space as possible, so storage is switched to mSATA SSD and the WiFi is now supplied via USB dongle. Of course, there are a lot of unknowns but honestly we must say that they managed to squeeze in a lot in such a small case.

You can check out the rest of the pictures over at Computerbase.de, and we'll certainly keep an eye out for this one and try to dig out more information.
