EA Servers to be offline for 2 hours

by on19 July 2012

Downtime necessary for upgrade

Starting around 6 a.m. PDT all Electronic Arts online services (including online services) for all games will be down for about 2 hours. The publisher says that this downtime is necessary to deploy a major extensive upgrade to the company’s gaming servers.

The translation of this two-hour window means that players will not be logging in to EA gaming servers or playing online games on the EA gaming servers till the maintenance and upgrades are completed. Those logged into games on EA during the window will be affected as well.

EA isn’t saying exactly what they are doing in this “extensive upgrade,” but while it is a pain for some, it is necessary in order to deliver the best experience.
