Barnes & Noble launches two new Nook HD tablets
7- and 9-inchers
Following in the footsteps of Amazon, Barnes & Noble has rolled out two rather interesting tablets in the UK and US.
The 7-inch Nook HD features a 1440x900 display, which translates into 243ppi, a record for 7-inch tablets. It weighs just 315 grams, making it a bit lighter than the Kindle Fire HD and Nexus 7. It’s powered by a dual-core 1.3GHz processor and packs 1GB of RAM. The Nook HD will sell for $199 for the 8GB model, while the 16GB version will go for $229. Better yet, it features a microSD slot.
The Nook HD+ is 9-incher with a 1920x1280 display and 256ppi. It’s powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of ram and it weighs 515 grams, which is not too bad given the form factor. The price of the 16GB version is set at $269, while a 32GB unit will set you back $299.
Is it just us, or is the Nexus 7 starting to look a bit on the pricey side?
