Google has announced that it has started to push its Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update to Nexus 7 devices and that it has officially been released to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) today.
Those that have already got the new Android 4.1.2 update on their Nexus 7 device reporting that the new update brings the landscape mode for the Nexus 7, something that has been missing from the start. The update notification also states that the new Android 4.1.2 "improves performance and stability and fixes bugs".
Although there are still no details regarding those improvements, we are sure that we will see more info as the actual update shows up on more devices. The new update should be available for all Nexus 7 devices in the next few days.
On a similar note, the recently leaked LG Nexus prototype was running the same Android 4.1.2 version.
