Promises to go green

Google is planning to burn €300 million (roughly $390 million) to upgrade its continental data center in Belgium, AP reports.

Located in St. Ghislan near Brussels, the facility is already touted as one of the most energy efficient data centers on the planet. The upgrades should make it even more polar bear friendly.

Google says the upgrade is necessary to keep up with growing demand for its online services. Google also operates European data centers in Ireland and Finland.
