Apple taking preorders for new TV

by on26 October 2015

Fourth generation arrives Friday

Apple has just started accepting the pre-orders for the fourth generation Apple TV. You can get one in USA or most parts of the Europe.

In Europe, the company wants to sell the Apple TV 32GB for €179.00 or Apple TV 64GB for €229.00. In the US Apple wants $149 for 32GB and $199 for 64GB.

It can't manage 4K resolution but it does come with a talkative assistant called Siri, because everyone wants a search engine that listens to you voice so that it can interupt your viewing to search why a ref can't understand the off-side rule. This seems to be a trend these days as Nvidia and rest of the Google TV eco system wants you to talk to your console through Google too. Amazon is using Alexa speech recognition engine for its Amazon TV.  Siri means that Apple can finally catch up and then claim it invented it. The new console is a real upgrade as it comes with dual core A8 processor but it is limited to HDMI 1.4 and full HD 1920x1080, which makes it less interesting than what is out there.

The new remote has a glass surface which looks nice and the new OS based on iOS brings a lot of new features.
