The company hosted more than 1,700 media, analysts, industry partners, consumers and employees to unveil its open, integrated Internet ecosystem consisting of platform, content, apps and the stunning array of connected smart devices that bring it to life.
The launch event was not unlike those typical of CES, or other major trade shows from well established companies. LeEco brought out their US executive team as well as their CEO to debut products including an 85-inch 4K HDR10 TV (7ft), a VR headset, a self-driving car, media streaming platform as well as two phones, the LePro 3 and the Le S3. The first cellular device presented to the audience is their new flagship, the 5.5-inch LePro 3.
It features the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Bundled with a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel shooter on the front, a fingerprint reader and a USB Type-C port. The handset comes equipped with a massive 4,070 mAh battery and Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 technology allowing the device to charge up to 33 percent in 20 minutes. Just like Apple's iPhone 7, this device lacks a headphone jack and you will need an adapter to plug standard headphones into the USB-C port.
One interesting feature of this phone is the support for Dolby Atmos. The LePro 3 will sell for $399, but will be offered with a limited time instant rebate bringing the price to $299 at launch. Their second USA phone offering is the Le S3, which is touted as the little brother. It will come with a Snapdragon 652 processor, 5.5-inch full HD display, 3GB of RAM, Quick Charge 3.0, 16-megapixel rear camera, and a fingerprint sensor. The device will come with slightly less storage as well, 32GB of built-in storage.
At launch the Le S3 will sell for $250, but will also have a $100 instant rebate at launch.
