GTC kicked off today for a week of 600+ sessions and presentations. The GPU Technology Conference (GTC) is hosted by NVIDIA, and is the largest event of the year for GPU developers. In the last year GTC expanded to have a global footprint offering valuable training and showcasing some of the most innovative and vital work in the computing industry. Attendees can attend presentations on artificial intelligence, deep learning, healthcare, virtual reality, accelerated analytics, and self-driving cars are scheduled throughout the entire week
Attendees to GTC are invited to participate in in onsite labs that provide hands on experience that they may not have access to back home. Both instructor-led as well as self-paced labs are available to attendees. The instructor-led labs are intensive hands-on training and instructor-led labs that range from 90 to 180 minutes. For those who would rather move at their own pace, the self-paced lab setting may be the better choice. The self-paced labs offer a unique opportunity to get hands-on with specific programming languages, technologies, and domains.
A unique part of GTC is that it allows for attendees to have the rare opportunity of having “office hours” with NVIDIA engineers and the ability to ask questions on hot topics during the conference. The program was created by NVIDIA to facilitate discussions, educate attendees, and forge relationships between the developers and engineers.
For those who are on the absolute "bleeding-edge" of graphics technology, animportant aspect of the show are the posters. The posters represent work from some of the most renowned scientists and researchers from every corner of the world. Attendees to GTC will have the ability to talk to the authors directly about their discoveries and relevance during the conference. If you want to see ideas that will come to fruition in a few years, be sure to check out the work that has been put into these gems.
On Wednesday morning at 9am PST, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang will officially kick off GTC with his keynote. The one thing we were told today at registration is that the conference keynote topic will be highlighted on the official show T-Shirt which will be avaliable to attendees after the keynote. We will provide live coverage on Twitter, as well as a wrap-up here.
