Drops controversial user information policy

Popular
social notworking site Facebook has dropped its recently announced privacy policies which have caused an uproar among many of its 150 million users.

Two weeks ago, the site changed its terms of use, stating it would reserve the right to retain all user data and content even after they have deleted it or after they closed their profile. After reading the small print, privacy minded users went ape and demanded Facebook drops the Orwellian terms, and over 64,000 joined a group called The People Against the new Terms of Service.

It seems they got their way. The site announced earlier today that it would be reverting to the old terms of use following user feedback on the issue.
