Another poor sod fired over Facebook comment
Philadelphia man sacked following sports comment
A man working for the Philadelphia Eagles football team was sacked after he posted a Facebook comment in which he criticized the team for letting a star player leave.
Dan Leone, who was employed at the Eagles stadium as a gate chief, was upset after he heard the team's safety Brian Dawkins signed with the Broncos. He went on to post the following comment on Facebook: "Dan is devastated about Dawkins signing with Denver . . . Eagles R Retarted!!"
He claims Dawkins was one of his favorite players, and that he deleted the Eagles bashing comment on Facebook. In spite of that, the team fired him a few days later, by phone.
Basically, it turns out he lost his job because he was a fan of the team he worked for, and took the game a bit too seriously.
