Arrow Lake on 20A to be manufactured by external partners

Intel has announced it is shifting its production focus on the 18A manufacturing process, ending its 20A production plans, and pushing Arrow Lake manufacturing to "external partners".

In an announcement released by Intel's Bell Sell, Vice President of Technology Development at Intel, the company has said to be shifting its engineering resources from the 20A manufacturing process to 18A, which is currently powered on, booting on operating systems, yields well, and is on track for release in 2025. According to Intel, this early success on Intel 18A comes as a result of focused work on 20A, which allowed Intel to integrate both RibbonFET gate-all-around transistor architecture and PowerVia backside power delivery.

As for Arrow Lake, which is based on the Intel 20A manufacturing process, Intel will push its manufacturing to "external partners", TSMC, Samsung Electronics, or both.
