MSI's top X340Pro ultra slim and light notebook just got
what might be the final specification. The notebook uses a 4-cell battery and
weighs 1.3kg. The rest of the specification of the top model includes 1.98 cm
at the thickest and 0.6cm at the thinnest point.
The top model has Intel Penryn 45nm SFF Ultra low voltage
SU3500 CPU, GS45 + ICH9M-SFF chipsets, and GMA 4500MDH graphics.
Its 13.4-inch display supports 1366x768 WXGA and it can theoretically
support WiMax, but this will depend on the market. The Core 2 Solo SU3500 should work at 1.4GHz, but the test model we’ve
seen had a SU3300 CPU with 1.2GHz core.
The top model should feature a dual-core CULV CPU and will also have HDMI. It should be
available in Q2 for a whopping €899.
For comparison, the cheapest Macbook Air sells for just over €1200, and you can get Samsung's X360 or Lenovo's X300 for €1212 and €1148 respectively, but they ship with more powerful Core 2 Duo processors, and the Lenovo even packs a 64GB SSD.
