Judging by the ending of one of our previous articles, one would say that we intended this all along. Just for the record – we didn’t, but that didn’t change the fact that the iPad dragged its overpriced behind into the US House of Representatives.

The House is said to be a technology-free zone due to potential distractions to its members. However, Representative Henry Cuellar recently proudly took his iPad to the podium.

Cuellar argued that “properly leveraged [technology] can make us a more efficient Congress”. He added that it could be used for researching on the fly or downloading a bill. Truth be told, such a move would be pretty practical – it means less time working and preparing and more time for spending them greenbacks.

The move drew criticism, but it is expected that the iPad will be allowed to stay. As a matter of fact, it has been said that the incoming Speaker proposed to leave certain electronic devices, including the iPad, as long as they don’t “impair decorum”.

Quite understandable really, what with the iPad packing much more than just technology – it is a lifestyle. Just ask Foxconn workers.
