Asus announces cheaper Asus Transformer Pad 300
1280x800 IPS display and 16GB of storage
In addition to the official reveal of its Padfone, Asus has also announced a new member of the Tranformer family, the Transformer Pad 300. The Transformer Pad 300 is pretty much a cheaper version of the recently released Transformer Prime as it features a slightly downgraded display panel and a bit of less storage.
The full specs for the new Transformer Pad 300 still include Tegra 3 chip, 8MP back and 2MP front snapper, HDMI output and optional LTE. The LTE version will ditch Tegra 3 in favour of Qualcomm's MSM 8960 Snapdragon S4 Krait dual-core 1.5GHz CPU. The Transformer Pad 300 ends up with regular 1280x800 IPS display as opposed to Super IPS+ on the Prime and packs 16GB of storage space as opposed to 32 on the Prime.
Thankfully, Transformer Pad 300 still comes with Android 4.0 ICS, optional keyboard dock and has enough battery power for up to ten hours (15 hours with the dock).
Unfortunately, there was no word regarding the availability or the price except that it is expected to be cheaper and price will be set depending on the region.
