Originally showcased at CES, the 9-series beast rocks a 15.6-inch 1600x900 anti-glare screen, but what really sets it apart from the competition is its girth and weight. Samsung spinners are proudly touting it as one of the thinnest and lightest 15-inchers out there and they have every right to do so – the 900 is just 14.9mm thick and it weighs 1.65kg. Mind you, these numbers could easily put some 13-inchers to shame and the spec sheet is equally impressive.
The N900X4C will ship with Ivy Bridge processors and the first SKU we came across features a 1.7GHz Core i5 3317U part with HD 4000 graphics. It also has 8GB of RAM and a spacious 128GB SSD. Two USB 3.0 ports are also on board, along with b/g/n wireless and Bluetooth 4.0. Samsung even managed to squeeze an 8-cell battery in the sleek shell, so battery life should not be an issue.
Of course, all these goodies don’t come cheap and a few British retailers are listing the new Sammy at more than 1200 quid, which translates into 1500+ euro. Quite pricey, especially in this economy, but after all we are talking about a breathtaking piece of kit.
