The Surface Pro differs from the Surface RT in a number of key aspects. It is based on an Intel x86 chip and it runs Windows 8 rather than Windows RT. It also features a stylus and HD screen, but the perks come at a price.
At $899 the Surface Pro is practically priced in ultrabook territory, and let’s not forget about pricey accessories. The touch cover costs $120, while the hard Type cover goes for $130.
In addition, ZDnet is reporting that the battery life is rather limited. The Pro should get about half the battery life of the Surface RT.
