Fatigue setting in?

The tablet market has been cooling down for a while and the years of double-digit growth may be behind us.

According to Digitimes Research, tablet shipments in the fourth quarter of 2014 are expected to reach 74.5 million units. This represents a sequential increase of 17.6%, but year-on-year it is actually a dip of 10.1%. Apple still dominates the market. The Cupertino gang is expected to ship around 20 million iPads in the current quarter, accounting for 26.8 percent of all tablet shipments.

Other brand name vendors will ship 27.8 million units, while white-box churners are expected to ship 26.7 million units.

Taiwan-based companies will account for 30.6 million of all tablets shipped this quarter. Foxconn is still the biggest player, followed by Pegatron, Compal and Quanta.
