Predator 8 tablet for gamers

While the tablet market shrinks faster than Ant Man in a cold bath, Acer thinks that it can score a few points of Nvidia's Shield with an Android gaming tablet.

The Predator 8 tablet will launch in November and cost about $299. It is an eight inch tablet with an IPS display with a resolution of 1920x1200.

Under the bonnet is an Intel Atom x7 processor, 2x2 MIMO Wi-Fi, and up to 64GB of storage.

Most of the rest which makes the tablet attractive is marketing puff. Predator 8 does not have a touchscreen it has a "Precision Plus" screen with something called "ColorBlast technology.

It is 8.7mm thick and weighs 350-grams which is pretty much on the thick and chunky side. Still it is better than the Shield Tablet which is smaller and weighs 390 grams.
