Back at the CES 2017 show, the EVGA SC15 gaming notebook was spotted with a 15.6-inch 1080p 120Hz screen with support for Nvidia G-Sync and was powered by Intel's Kaby Lake Core i7-7700HQ CPU, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a 256GB SSD and 1TB HDD for storage. The heart of it was the GTX 1060 GPU, which should offer similar performance to the earlier favorite GTX 980M GPU.
The rest of the known features that were unveiled at the CES 2017 show included an RGB-backlit keyboard as well as all the modern connectivity options, like the USB Type-C port and mini-DisplayPort output.
EVGA still did not give out a precise launch date but in its latest teaser it did confirm the GTX 1060 GPU as well as the 120Hz G-Sync screen and did say it will be coming soon.
The SC15 gaming notebook should be cheaper than the larger SC17 gaming notebook which comes with a 4K screen, but still powerful enough to be used as a portable VR station, which EVGA already demonstrated at CES 2017, by hooking it up with an HTC Vive headset.
