Establish Adaptive Compute Research Clusters XACC
Adaptive computing is the buzz word these days and Xilinx seems to be on top of it. With that in mind, Xilinx announced it is establishing Xilinx Adaptive Compute Clusters (XACC) at four of the world’s most prestigious universities
Xilinx solution to reduce cloud latency by 80 percent
The datacenter is exploding, and the number of global data center traffic will triple between 2016 and 2021. Datacenter to outside traffic doubled from two Exabytes in 2016 to four Exabytes in 2019, and by 2021 it is expected to grow to six Exabytes. Interestingly enough traffic within data centers is exploding, as it grew from five Exabytes in 2016 to 10 Exabytes in 2019, and by 2021 the expectations are that it will grow to 15 Exabytes.
Datacenter Accelerator against theft
Xilinx and SK Telecom announced that SK Telecom had adopted Xilinx Alveo Datacenter Accelerator cards. The cards have an important job to power a real-time AI-based physical intrusion and theft detection service.
Adaptive intelligent world
Last year was the first time that Xilinx held a massive Xilinx Developers forum, and on October 1 and 2, the company plans the annual event over again. Victor Peng, President, and Chief Executive Officer is expected to give us an update on adaptable intelligent world vision.
Wins against Xeon and Tesla
Xilinx has a data center first strategy that Victor Peng and his team are executing flawlessly so far, and part of that plan is to launch an adaptable compute, network and storage card and call it Alveo U50.
Data center beat Nvidia Volta on latency and inference
The Xilinx CEO has just introduced a new product category called the Alveo PCIe based hardware accelerator that will challenge machine learning data center compute accelerators. It has dramatically better latency compared to Nvidia or AMD's GPU based solution, it's claimed.
