Computex 09: Workstation board from Gigabyte

A little bird told us that Gigabyte was showing off an H55 motherboard at its booth, but this wasn't among the consumer products, instead it was hidden away among Gigabytes server and workstation boards.

It's not very impressive looking in terms of features, but the HP55MK as the board is known as right now, is one of the first H55 boards to show up. This is the first IGP chipset for the Core i5 platform, as long as you have the right CPU of course, as Intel have moved the graphics from the chipset and into the CPU itself.

The board offers DVI, HDMI and D-sub connectivity as well as a pair of PS/2 ports, six USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet and 7.1-channel audio with optical S/PDIF out. As this is a mATX board it only has one x16 PCI Express slot, one x1 and one x4 PCI Express slot and a single PCI slot. We're not sure if the ONFI slot on this board will work or not, but it's highly likely that it will.
