First Atom D2500 board listed in Europe

by on28 September 2011

€64 for 32nm Atom, €2 per nanometer apparently
Intel’s first 32nm Atom board was listed in Europe this morning and we expect six additional SKUs to show up soon.

The D2500HND is the first board to show up and sadly it is the most underwhelming. It lacks HDMI and relies on VGA and DVI instead. The rest of the package isn’t impressive, either. It features a dual-core Atom D2500 that has 1MB of L2 cache and a 10W TDP. Some of the specs are still blurry, but don’t expect too much.

The list price stands at €64, which doesn’t sound too bad, but it is worth noting that AMD Brazos boards are available for about the same, and they offer HDMI, DX11 and USB 3.0.

On the bright side, Intel does plan to introduce a few more interesting boards, with HDMI, D2700 processor and some advanced features. They should appear in the next few weeks.
