Asus is finally giving serious PC users a Thunderbolt-enabled motherboard.

So far Intel's high-speed I/O technology has only been seen in Apple machines and indeed Apple had a go at patenting it. Now Asus has announced the P8Z77-V Premium, which comes with a single Thunderbolt port. Since you can daisy-chain up to six devices, one Thunderbolt connector is all you'll need. 

The board is based on the Intel Z77 chipset and supporting Ivy Bridge. The board is targeted at high-end users with a set of premium features that includes dual Gigabit Ethernet ports and support for up to four graphics cards. It even comes with a 32GB SSD cache onboard, giving it an Ultrabook-like responsiveness.

No word on pricing but it will be in the shops by June.
