However, Gigabyte has now upped the ante with the first mITX board with a quad-core Bay Trail on board. The GA-J1900N is powered by a Celeron J1900 clocked at 2GHz. It has two SO-DIMM slots and it can take up to 8GB of DDR3 (UDIMM).
There’s also a PCIe 2.0 x1 slot and a standard PCI slot, too. Oddly enough there is no HDMI or DisplayPort – the board offers VGA and DVI video outs, which is bad news for anyone looking for a media PC board. Redeeming features include four USB 3.0 ports, but then again the board has no third party SATA controller, so it’s limited to SATA 3Gbps. There’s also a couple of standard Gigabit LAN connectors, two USB 2.0 ports, along with serial and parallel ports.
This means the board is probably meant for office boxes rather than HTPCs, hence the legacy ports. The board is passively cooled and it is an all solid capacitor design. The first listings put it at €77 to €87 in retail, but it should end up a bit cheaper when it goes on sale.
