Sony has started a new Playstation 3 virtual reality meeting place called Home. This is a real time 3D networked community where Playstation 3 users should meet and interact.
People around the world have a chance to communicate, meet, join online games, share content and even build their own personal space. This sounds just like Second life, but with better Playstation 3, G71 powered DirectX 9 equivalent graphics. The best part is that they will be able to shop and spend even more money on Sony's gadgets and tools.
Home is now in Beta stage, but will later be available as a free download from Playstation stores and will launch directly from the Playstation 3 system's Home Menu.
At this time Home is an exclusive closed Beta Trial and you can't get in if Sony doesn’t invite you. Sony stuff and some selected Beta testers are trying it and it went live yesterday on the first of May.
