Currently planning their DLC strategy going forward

Bizarre Creations is still working on the upcoming racing Blur and in fact the game is undergoing multiplayer beta testing now. The developer is not being shy about the fact that they are planning a large amount of downloadable content for Blur after release. While we will not see any DLC on launch day, our sources tell us that the steady stream of content will start within a few weeks of the release of Blur.

The game isn’t 100% finished yet and the plans for DLC will not totally come together till the game is finished. Still, our sources tell us that the developers are already thinking about the future of Blur. What isn’t clear is if all of the talk of DLC is going to cost players money or whether at least some of it will be free. According to the whispers that we hear, the company might release some free DLC content, but the majority of the content will cost players money; and the developer is looking toward creating a continuous revenue stream with Blur going forward should the title prove as popular as many think that it will be.

When the game finally arrives, the initial numbers say that the game will start off with 30 tracks and 50 licensed cars. Obviously, the DLC will center on expanding those numbers while at the same time adding additional mods and power-ups that players will be able to buy as DLC. On the surface our insiders are claiming that Blur has a lot of content coming with it right out of the gate that could push it ahead of other racing challengers such as Split/Second from Blackrock Studios. Early feedback from those playing the Xbox 360 multiplayer online beta for Blur are positive, although some complained that the beta was a bit limited in scope. We will have to see how things pan out when Blur gets closer to release.
