To happen for 360 users on April 6th

The Blur beta is apparently going so well that developer Bizarre Creations has announced that they will be opening up Blur for additional beta testing to Xbox Live Gold members starting April 6th. The beta will continue to focus on multiplayer testing ahead of the upcoming release of Blur, which is still scheduled to arrive on May 25th.

The game itself has been compared to a lot of different things, but during our time checking out the Blur beta we have to say that the comparisons to it being a more updated version of Mario Kart are justified. We found the multiplayer to be very riveting and a lot of fun. Still, while we know the game is a beta, it was not without its quirks that we assume will be ironed out prior to release.

The Blur beta will continue to be a Xbox 360 only affair and while the game will be released for the PlayStation 3 and PC, as well, the studio has said that they not be releasing a beta for either of the other two platforms. The decision to run a beta on only one platform had more to do with the availability of resources and the need to focus on finishing up the game for release while at the same time being able to analyze and address feedback from the beta testing. Of course, this is no small task.
