Will push next Ghost Recon release till 2011

In a move that actually isn’t that surprising, Ubisoft will avoid the release of Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops by pushing the release of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier till some time during the first quarter of 2011, according to our sources. Originally, Future Solider was slated to appear during the holiday season and go head to head with Call of Duty: Black Ops.

The decision isn’t actually that surprising, as other companies have moved their release schedules to avoid big title releases from competitors. While it was never actually confirmed, many to this day still believe that DICE’s Battlefield: Bad Company 2 had its release date pushed out of the holiday season last year when it was originally slated to ship to avoid Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Both DICE and EA suggested that the move was instead to polish the game and give the developers additional time to tweak the title before release. Whispers indicate to us that this move appears to be similar.
