Sources are telling us that Sega is hard at work on the conversion of a number of Dreamcast titles to both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms that will be released via digital download on both the Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Store.
We are hearing now that the number of titles that have been targeted for conversion from the Dreamcast platform are as many as 24+ titles. The initial releases will include Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure, but a number of other titles have already entered the conversion process. Sega is expected to announce additional titles when the actual release date is announced for the initial releases.
The first two Dreamcast offerings will be released this fall with a number of other Dreamcast titles to follow during 2011. Despite the hint at some possible conversions from the Saturn platform, as well, sources tell us that for the time being Sega is focused just on Dreamcast conversions. While Sega has looked at the Saturn catalog for potential conversions, none of those titles will arrive this year and 2011 is unlikely, as well.
